Do I recall correcylt that yuccas need a little bit alkaline soils? My soil is mainly sandy but acidic I guess. Im planning on checking its pH cause I've lost few yuccas, plus typical desert species like harrimaniae, baccata, rostrata etc. grow so slowly and die in the end. Im wondering is it my soil. Well, we'll see.

Unlike most plants that prefer rich, fertile soil a little on the acidic side, yucca likes its soil poor, dry and alkaline. If you're thinking about growing yucca outdoors, you may need to improve drainage by incorporating a generous amount of sand or gravel into the soil.
