I still need to repot my new Trachy!! But I have a few questions. I have regular potting soil from Lowes, and I also bought some Perlite, is this all that I should add? I repotted my new Sago (another topic) with just Perlite and the potting soil and it seemed a bit soggy, not as fast draining as the Trachy. Should I also mix in some sand? What does everybody else do?

Also, is it ok to put the trachy in a MUCH larger pot? Probably about triple what it's in now. I do have one that is about double, but it's not really all that much larger, and I figured give it a lot of room to grow, then in a few years put it in the ground.

I can take pictures of the new pot and all my new stuff later on, W has the camera charger. I now have my Trachy, a Neanthe Bella, a Sago, and a Majesty which I know will die but it's dark green right now, Anyway's that's another post.

A bigger pot is fine for a Trachy or just about any palm,
just make sure it drains fast and dries out quickly.

Sometimes a large pot will hold to much moisture and this becomes a problem.

Sand,compost,perlite,potting soil all good to add in,
you may want to find some granite dust or volcanic rock/dust,
or even greensand to add in if you can.

Ditto what Jim said with one addition.

Potting soil in bags often comes in different grades, i.e. regular potting soil may still be a "container mix" (usually has a lot of peat moss in it so it doesn't dry out too fast.)
That may be the type you used for the Sago.

When we expect a palm to die, it usually lives 😆
