Dypsis...(something), I can't remember the name.
Is there a Canadian source here?
I doubt the border will allow seeds in from the US.
I don't have anything to trade, so will pay your price.
Does Jay have some???? HALLLOOOOOO, Jay?

Hi Dean,
My goal was to get a triangle palm at a nursery.
I've looked and never found one!
Do you think the border restrictions will allow seeds from Texas to B.C., Canada?
I'll call our CFIA rep in the morning and get back to you.
This is exciting, Dean, thanks.
Then I'll have to pester you on how to germinate them.
But first things first...I'll call the authorities tomorrow.
Thanks for this offer.

Barb,
I doubt there will be a problem importing seed. Plants would probally be a different thing. Maybe someone here can shed some light on the subject.
I'm glad to hear your exicited, I know they would go to a good home 😆 .
As far as germinating goes I'm doing that right now. Look here http://www.rarepalmseeds.com/shop/DypDec.shtml

My post was in March. Subsequently I decided I'm too old for seeds 😆
But haven't been able to find a plant in the nurseries or box stores....so...
Called the CFIA today to ask if I could bring Triangle Palm Seeds into BC from Texas.
They didn't know, but referred me to the CFIA Seed Import section of their website,
which reads like an insurance policy (yawn) 😐 ...all about wheat, etc. etc.,
but I doubt Dypsis seeds will affect anything in Canada's agriculture industry. 🙂
OK Dean, do you want to PM the price?
I don't have any seeds to trade, so I don't mind paying (especially now that we're at Par $ !!!! ) 😀
Thanks for your offer and I'll look forward to hearing from you.
PS--if they're easy to germinate (with a good success rate), I only want a couple of seeds.
If they're a poor success rate, I'd like 10 or so.
Regards
Barb

Palms seeds are shipped all over the world without any difficulty.
I would take at least 10 just in case.

Thanks, Wes, that's good to know.
I thought Customs was getting stickier and stickier about everything.
I cannot believe that--at my age--I'm starting Palm Seeds.
Hope the Dypsis grows fast 😕 ha ha

Lucky, just to inform you, with all my seedlings in my community pot from Robert Chumley, they LOVE LOVE LOVE wet feet and heat as seedlings. However, once they get three or four leaves, I would take them off the wet feet. But my seedlings do LOVE wet feet. In fat, I took some off the wet feet and re potted them in dry pots and they seem to have stopped growing. Meanwhile the community pot ones are SHOOTING UP.
Palms love wet feet when they're young?
Holy cow, never knew.

I 've got a whole bucket full of seeds that have recently germinated. How many do you want? 50 for $10.....plus $6 postage chumleyrobert@hotmail.com
I live on 12 acres in Central Florida about half way between Tampa and Walt Disney World.I have seed colonies of over 60 varieties of cycads. I have over one half acre of variegated cycads and I make many hybrids as well.
Robert, her only problem is that she lives in Canada. Can you ship a bunch of germinated seeds across the border? If so Lucky, Robert is who gave me mine and they are doing WONDERFUL!
chumleycycads.com,
What a good deal. Fifty for $10 and already germinated too.

Thanks Robert, but I'll pass on the 50 seeds.
I only wanted one Triangle Palm, so I'll get a few seeds from Dean and give it a try.
I'm grateful for all the offers.
Cheers.
And yup, Wes, my only problem is that I live in Canada 😆
(where everything is so much more expensive than in the US...you lucky ducks).
