The soil is plenty moist. Im running my drip irrigation In that pic i just let them dry out for a day or two. But they usually stay moist

The tall ones? One of them is slowly pushing up a spear. The other im not sure...it might be dead. An if it is ill wait till next spring to replace it

Yes we are mostly dry here in the winter. We do get some light snows but its mostly
Mild. Last winter it only snowed here once or twice it stays gor a few days then melts away

I posted in on gardenweb and jim said it was a filifera. So thats good,i was hopin it was. I have enough robustas and heard the filiferas do better in this area

I dont think its ever too late. I planted some Windmill palms last year in November and didnt protect them and they made it throught winter with snow and freezing temps like a champ. They looked flawless in the spring

Windmill May Be Toast

I bought a couple windmills about 10ft each from seattle i planted them and about after a month i put a littlw fertilizer down for each and then we had a really hot heat wave with temps well in the 90s in Early May , i was out of town and unable to water and the fronds are all brown and dried up now ...

Yes it can be done. There is a Mexican Fan Palm here in Pasco,WA Zone 7a that has 20ft of trunk. Been growing here since 2003 The guy puts up a nice enclosure during winter

I water my 6 foot trunk mexican fan palm 5 gallons a day in sandy soil. The weather here has been sunny and about 70 its gnna start getting in the 80s and 90s. Is this too much water?

Wow that seems really small for a 30 gallon. I was expecting to see anout 5 feet of trunk. That looks the same size as my 15 gallon

I doubt is root rot. Those palm can take alot of rain. Thy have Windmill Palms in seattle and they get tons of rain. Windmilld thrive in seatttle

Actually i think what caused it was Transplant shock plus 70+mph winds. Ill try some Copper Funguicide just in case

I actually bought it from a lady for $150. Shes had it since it was small. My brother in law watered inside the spear area. Which i got mad about...im hoping its not bud rot and no i havent hecked the spear yet. But this tree is from washington and used to the moisture of seattle

Im sure its just shock... But 2.5 gallons a day i dont believe is too much. I got this plans in a 28 gallon box its roots are still in sand from the box with good mix of potting soil and natural soil

Ya i just planted it a few days ago and temps havent dipped below 50 and i water about 2.5 gallons everyday. Temps are 50s at night and around 70 for daytime high

Im not sure yet maybe ill plant them. I got all the plants for pretty cheap
