Adding sand to clay just makes it worse. Trachycarpus can do well in clay. Bone meal isn't needed unless you barely have any phosphorus in your soil since Trachycarpus only require a small amount. Adding more perlite to the soil can help aerate it and a little vermiculite will help as well.

How low of a temperature did the palm go through while in the pot? The roots are much more sensitive to cold than the rest of the plant since they are naturally warmer. When you place it in a pot, it exposes the roots to the cold and quick temperature change that the plant would not naturally experi...

For now, you can wrap the tender new growth (bud tissue). I would also spray with a copper fungicide/bactericide to keep the population down since most deaths don't come directly from cold damage but from bacterial damage as a result of the cold damage. You can cover it now as long as you don't have...

They were likely grown in a greenhouse. The greenhouse filters out sun light and has less quick changes in the climate. Therefore, the plants aren't acclimated to withstand the more harsh conditions outside. Just wait and they'll be fine.

I would plant it in the South East side of the house. Mix perlite, organic material, and native soil. They like well drained, rich soil.

Did you purchase it from Home Depot? They have the same containers here except that we only have non hardy species (Phoenix, Washingtonia).

Its usual for them to turn yellow when you transplant them (need to acclimate to the new climate (soil structure, sunlight, wind...)). As long as you didn't plant it too deep, it should be fine. You can use Potassium Silicate and kelp to help with the transplant. If you feed too much Nitrogen, it ca...

You can spray the plants with hot pepper extract and an anti-transpirant to help it stick to the plants. Once they eat it they'll stop.

Don't water the plants unless they need the water. Too much water can actually kill the palms (can rot the roots and provide conditions in which bad fungi and bacteria can attack the palms). They need oxygen in the soil in order to function. When you plant the trees, make sure that only the roots ar...

I would try some fungicide/bactericide. The indoor climate with moist soil favors fungus/bacteria. Your palm looks very healthy so it shouldn't have much trouble recovering if it is being attacked.
