defibred windmill
It is pretty quick to do I have done many. It does not hurt the palm at all . They do this a lot in Europe and now in the USA. I had a video 4 years ago doing a few. I had many US Palm Wholesalers call me and ask me how to do it and now they offer it. I like the fiber personally, but the naked look ...

Hey Barb I did not see your blue tipis can you show me that. I had the windmill palm tipis bundled too tight I will undo at least 3 of them and give them more room at the top. I am downloading a video as we speak of a night video showing the protection I will post soon

Needle palms
Yeah since needle palms have a growing point close to the ground any low heat source will work
I wrap them up mostly to keep them dry when I do use electricity it is only 1. 23 w fluorescent bulb

Yes
Yes I also just put rose cones over the small ones and they do fine
I also forgot to protect two small needle palms last year
The first snow covered them they lived but had leaf damage
I might leave a big one unprotected next year I doubt you have any with no protection in your area

palm boxes
Hi Scott. I used to glue the boxes together but they took up too much space when it was time to store them for the summer. I now use shrink wrap to hold the 4 panels and lid together. I use aluminum tape to secure the panels and lid in place and then shrink wrap with the help of a few people. When ...

Hi guys . Putting off the wrapping of the palms to make them even tougher . I will have 2 new methods involving tents over these palms and I will try the tents over 5-6 different varieties of palms. If it works it will be the fastest way to wrap up our palms taking only 5-10 mins for an 8 foot palm ...

Hi guys every year I decorate my yard with palms and I have some extra palms to get rid of . I will almost be giving these away if you could pay the transport-big pindos-waggies-needles. A great chance to pick up a palm at an incredible price and I will not profit from this. cheers CoconutMike http ...

Hand Pollination
If you have a male and female flowering at the same time take a piece of the male flower and dust it on the female. gentle tapping and/or brush it along the female flower, after that leave the male piece up in the tree.

Both are Windmill Palms
I see this all the time. wide leaves and thin leaves. Depends where they get the seed from it does vary quite a bit. Some windmill palms and needle palms have similar leaves when young.

This garden is really doing great. All of your plants have certainly increased in size. For such a small garden, I think it is extremely well done and filling in nicely. I am sure you will be moving things around before long Congrats
