This is an image from CA. I have some tiny specimens but I took time to enjoy this very rigid palm with sharp leaflets. I noticed it from a mile away. It is very easy to ID once you see one in person. Touching the sharp leaflets confirms what the eyes see. They clump and look better left as a clump. I don't know if they divide well but I do know that farmers in South America burn some to clear land ❗

There should be more palms at English Bay.

Do you know of anyone that has one planted outside in the Vic or Van area?

I have one that still doesn't have a mature frond on it but it is getting quite large. I would like to plant it outside but I am worried about loosing it since it grows soooooo slowly.
