I have been growing these outside from April to November here in Z6..I have potted them in my beds and gradually began introducing them to sun..over the years..Some of my larger Yuuca eleph. are now 8 feet and really bulking with stiff leaves.
They have taken a few nites of around 0C...Yes...0C!
My advice..Put yours outside this spring and gradually give it some direct sun a few hours at a time as the season goes by...
They make nice specimens...
