Spent half an hour looking at the previous site's Members Pics.
Knocked my socks off π
Just jealous...and wondered what a Frohn wind was.

"Parts of the Norwegian west coast can actually be classed up to USDA zone 8B and 9A."
"but the growth seasonβs length and strength is very weak this fare north. Palms need warm days over a longer period to develop and build up the hardiness."
This climate zone map of Europe shows what's being refered to in the above statements.
Cheers, Barrie.
Barrie,
thanks for the map.
It's the simple fact they're at 62 degrees N latitude that blows me away, versus my 50 degrees N.
Just jealous, that's all. πΏ that we west-coasters don't have anything moderating the Siberian stuff we increasingly seem to be subjected to recently.

It doesn't seem right, but no reason for jealousy Barb. I am guessing we all have our challenges growing palms in northern climes. I'll bet our friends form Scandanavia don't have 3 dypsis decaryi that rock so successfully like yours.
Those were good pics though.
Kent in Kansas
where it's cold in winter (always)
and hot in summer (usually)

I`m sure our friends from Scandinavia won`t be having any scorching hot summers of above 40c 104f like we do here in the Okanagan. We need that heat to grow Sabals ,Needles ect. I can handle the usual twice winter Alaskan freeze blast we get. Nice to see palms growing there though.
