This growth around the base, not quite sure. Anyone have any ideas?

Steve, is that one I gave you? Hope so as it looks good!
Yes it is, All of them are doing well. Some of the seeds from your Vegas trip have been germinating too 8)

Yea I got two from the Vegas trip doing really well. I put one in the same pot with the Bengal you gave me cause it's in the bathroom that gets LOTS of sun, and the other is in a cup that sets on the top of the soil of the Bengal.
BTW, the Bengal is doing GREAT!!! Getting TALL, but not putting out aerial roots which is fine with me.
Yours will..........Pretty soon it will be trying to grab the plants next to it 😆

AHHH Steve, you ALWAYS seem to have the OBVIOUS solution to my problems that I don't think of.
My Bengal is leaning BAD with the tall growth and I couldn't think of what to use to keep it straight.
Then I see you use a bamboo stick which I have many of. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! 😆
It almost looks like it is trying to clump? ( but I think it's safe to rule that out )
I don't use any PGR's, and this one has not even had any fertilizer yet. I guess time will tell 😀
Wes, ( Kansas), Do any of yours have this trait?

You know what buddy, since I had my ACL surgery a week and a half ago, I have not even looked out in my greenhouse. Everything could be brown and burnt and I wouldn't know. I need to get out and check things out today but the snow scares me as I might slip on it. I am still on crutches and brace.
I cross posted with you earlier, plenty of uses for those bamboo stakes 😀
I hope everything went well with your surgery and things heal up quick!!
The forecast so far shows us into the 50's by the end of the week 8)

Yea, actually, next Sat & Sun will be mid 50's with Monday MID 60's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope to be able to take a water hose in the greenhouse Monday and water everything well.
Well...Whatever it is, it seems to be growing.

Almost looks like a succulent coming up.
Would there be a way--without hurting the Triangle--to gently scrape away the soil to see where it's attached?
to the spent seedling?
or Triangle's roots?
Could it be something that needs a host to climb on, like an orchid / fungus organism?
Maybe send the pic to your University's Botany dept?
That is so cool...keep us posted.

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
Good point, maybe this is something that came up at the same time. Going to wait till it gets a little bigger, then see if I can take a peek below the soil line. ( seem just a bit fragile at this size )
