It's no wonder Trachycarpus fortunei is the work horse of the exotic garden in these parts.

After weeks of bad weather, it's back to normal for this group of three.

Cheers, Barrie.

Looks like they weathered the storm very well. Maybe just pruning some bottom fronds. The small one is a Trachy fortunei as well?

John ... there's actually three palms planted together but the photo doesn't show that oddly enough. All are T. fortunei and the largest is 'Nainital' form from India.
This pic shows three trunks as well as my two dogs.

Cheers, Barrie.

great pics. appears you had lots of snow. by the way those fronds are hanging I am guessing it was a wet heavy snow too.

we just had our Schnauzer put to sleep in Nov 2008. She was 16 years old.

Kent ... sorry to hear about your pet Schnauzer. A loss like that is like a family member. 😥

As for the answer to your snow question, yes that snow was wet and very heavy. It came in record amounts which compounded the problem. The smaller palms where buried for about two weeks before I dug them out. All are fine.

Cheers, Barrie.
