Hey everyone,

This is my trachy fort. hanging out in the snow which fell over night and this morning. I love pictures of palms in snow so I'm posting this one.

HEY EDMONTON...NICE PICS!...THE SNOW DOESN'T SEEM TO FAZE THEM DOES IT? ARE YOU PLANNING ON PUTTING THAT TRACHY IN THE GROUND NXT SPRING? YOU CAN TRY AND PLANT IT IN A SEMI RAISED BED AND THEN PLEXI IT OFF AND ADD SOME HEAT, IN THE LATE FALL.

BY THE WAY..AT WHAT TEMP. WILL YOU BRING IT IN?

I HAVE 4 TRACHYS (POTTED IN THE GROUND) AND WILL TRY PLANTING AT LEAST 1 OF THEM IN A RAISED BED NXT SPRING. I'VE BEEN HARDENING THEM OFF AND PUSHING THE COLD LIMIT AS FAR AS I CAN WITH THESE.

ONE PALM THAT IS REALLY IMPRESSING ME IS THE CHAEMEROPS HUMILIS. I'VE HAD THESE THING'S OUT SINCE MID MARCH POTTED AND IN RAISED BEDS...SO FAR...NOTHING SEEMS TO HAVE FAZED THEM EVEN THOUGH WE'VE HAD SOME NASTY COLD WINDS. THE FRONDS ARE REALLY HARD AND STIFF...

THIS IS THE 3RD YEAR I'VE HAD THESE PALMS AND EACH YR I KEEP PUSHING THEM A LITTLE MORE....

I'LL TRY AND POST SOME PICS.....

Nate you might want to bring that Trachy in if you haven`t already. I see Edmonton was -9 c 15 f Monday morning,
at those temps the palm fronds will be fine but the roots will freeze in that pot. Great photo of your Trachy with the snow.
