Survived the winter well

Just removed my Trachy's winter protection this weekend. I put it away in November and never looked at it until yesterday. I purchased it in Langley BC and planted it here in SW Ontario in 2002. It is on the NE side of the house and gets no sun over the winter. I never water it either over that period. The enclosure has a thermostat that operates a fan which draws air out from the basement. I see no difference in our home's energy consumption using this method, in fact the house seems to be better ventilated with less condensation in really cold weather.[/img
