I had occasion to be on the Sunshine Coast region of British Columbia yesterday. I can see this area from my back deck on Vancouver Island across the Strait of Georgia about 30 miles away, but have never visited previously. Without too much effort one can spot palms and exotics especially in the town of Sechelt (SEE-shelt). I spotted large flowering Cordyline australis and mature palms, a testament to the mild climate. I'm sure that a drive through the neighborhood streets would find more treasures. Next trip when I have more time.Cheers, Barrie.

My only regret looking back on living in Vancouver for 21 years....was that I wasn't interested
in palms in those days.
I could've had a 10 to 20 foot tall palm OUTSIDE my house.
DUMB....DUMB...DUMB for not thinking of it.

And now that I live where it occasionally still gets to be -30C (-22F), I'm considering it.
DUMB....DUMB...DUMB for even considering it.

Barb ... there's no winning at this second guessing game. The internet has shown us where "we'd like to be", and reality has shown us, we already have it.
