So much for a website that said "even young Foxtails can tolerate full sun from an early age". 👿
Now what?
Fertilize them?
Wait to fertilize until they push new leaf?
Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
Move them somewhere with bright, filtered light, (no direct sun). And just give them time to recover.
They're already stressed, I would hold off on fertilizer till new growth is evident.

I thought I HAD them in "bright filtered light" with a shade cloth over the little greenhouse.
But H said the clear plastic was like a magnifying glass, even under the shade cloth.
👿
Will find another spot.
Thanks for the "no fertilizer" tip, too!
Much appreciated.

Well, these seedling Foxtails aren't breaking any growth records, but they are just starting to push a second set of leaves.
Sorry for fuzzy pic (I was so excited!)
I'm one happy woman!
Only another 35 years until they're 5 feet tall... 🙁 😆 😆 😆 😆

Good deal Barb, I'm glad there doing better since you moved them. How many did you end up with in total from all those seeds.
Do you have anymore thoughts on the seed delidding?
Bill
28 of the 50 Foxtail seeds made it.
The fellow in Florida said the seeds were from two trees (his and a friend's).
A few of the severely sunburned seedlings have no green on the leaf.
Doubt they'll make it.
You've got a good memory, Bill.
Delidding didn't work for me.
Delicate process to cut just so far, and not too far which would damage the embryo.
It was still fun to experiment a bit.

Good to know, Thanks. That's a nice success rate though regardless.
