Salt Spring Island (British Columbia) ya, the other Columbia, was my afternoon destination today. I left the big island (Vancouver Island) by ferry via Crofton to Vesuvius (20 minutes) to see Banana Joe and another local friend.
Along the way I stopped at and picked up another gardening friend. Here's a few pics of our nice autumn day.
Cheers, Barrie.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Always love the pic of the palms on the cove.Banana Joe has done a great job turning Saltspring island into a palm paradise. Thanks for sharing Barrie. Are you sure that`s in Canada 😆

Looks like it was a beautiful day to wonder around! Nice palms! How cold is the water up there, that cove looked so inviting?

Ocean water along the Pacific coast doesn't warm up until you get past Point Conception in California. It will in shallow sandy protected areas when the tide is low and then turns on the flood tide, warming as it comes in over the warm sand.
Parksville beach is a good example of that.
"Are you sure that's Canada?" ... according to the map yes, but we often think of our region as detatched, far removed from 99.9% of the rest of the nation.
Heading to Port Alberni today...see what turns up there.
Cheers, Barrie.
