Attached are some pics from the shelter. The quality is not great but with brilliant sunshine behind me, it was hard to see what I was shooting.

Chamaerops: the white areas are the sun and are about the same color as the green areas.

yucca elephantiasis: same as with the Chamaerops

Cycas revoluta: the pale almost white twisted leaves have turned yellow.

Butia capitata:

Washingtonia filifera: look pretty dead. Hope that they recover.

Next year I will put the smaller pots right under the roof doors so that I can water them regularly. I also will put the second heating cable on the copper pipe which is higher above the ground so that splashing water on it will not be as easy.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Allen lack of lighting vs. watering for all of your plants may be some of the problems you are experiencing . They will need some serious shade outdoors for the first month until they can take there sunglasses off. W. filifera and other IMO will not thrive or survive without 9 to 10 hours of strong natural emulative lighting. Hope they all make it.
