I still regret losing these guys:
Licuala grandis seedling:

Branching Pachypodium lamerei that someone (ahem! 👿 ) had moved, and it got left out to freeze:
<a href=" http://www.flickr.com/photos/southslope/399189034/" title="Feb22 07 004 by edible_plum, on Flickr"><img src=" ?zz=1" width="480" height="640" alt="Feb22 07 004"></a>
Have a new P.lamerei but it's inferior to the first one.
And what are the chances of finding another L.grandis at a Canadian nursery?
Scarce as breasts on a bull. 😥

The Licuala grandis is a beauty.............how'd it die?

Pic shows 100% improvement over the sad looking reject found @ nursery's clearance.
Even duplicated its humid understory habitat with dry cleaner bags taped together, draped from 6 feet up to where it sat.
Misted 3x / day, fan blowing warm air, no direct sun, etc.
Despite throwing every palm vitamin miracle at it, never had any vigor and ~6-9 months later died.
