Hey folks...

Here are some early pics of a few palms etc. taken this spring from our yard.

All my in ground palms survived the winter--with protection.

My potted euchalyptus tree (Z8) totally defoliated this winter however it has sent out new growth with the heat and rain proving this tree is worth a try as a potted specimen.

I have included a new windmill palm just purchased at Valleyview Nurseries in Scarborough.

i agree....everything looks great. Our winter here was far more severe than I have seen in many years so I think a regular winter around here will be a joke to our trachys.
Maybe in 20 years we will have some comparable sized trachys to our friends out west...unless one of us drives out there and picks a bunch of large ones up for the people in this neck of the woods....(hmmmm an idea)

Palmetto WOW. Your palms and other plants look great ,everything looks green and healthy. What are using for fertilizer? Great to see how well your plants are doing.

Outstanding yard, palmettoman! 😀
Nice to know I'm not the only person using garbage cans for their palms, works great!

Trunking specimen is superb!

John..

Thanks...

I use Carl Poole palm fertilizer...Go on the web and see if you can order it... It is a granular and contains a good portion of magnesium..I use about a half gallon a year and it helps with the roots and greening up the palms...$10.99 US...for a jar the size of a peanut butter container...I buy mine down in S/Carolina...Your in ground palms will love it..

Barb..you can never have enoughtrash cans eh?
