Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks for the comments! Spent the last couple days sorting things out, still have a few more shelves I can't get to until the GH is emptied out next spring. 😀

Wow, Steve. You've got a lot of nice seedlings and varieties going there.
Happy growing.
Wow! I'm impressed with the diversity!
No need for florida, just give you a zone 8 or 9 and you'd make a jungle!
Have you noticed an difference in growth rates among the Sabals?
I ask because I've just received seeds from palmetto, mexicana, minor 'McCurtain', 'Talledega co' Alabama, and 'Cape Hatteras' N.C... Now all I need is 5 years to pass without incident so I can try them outside!
Paul,
I've only been growing the Sabals for the past year or two, so far the palmetto is the fastest grower, with the minors, the "Emerald Isle Giant" variant seems to always be a leaf ahead of the others.
The "McCurtain" & "Louisiana" came from Kent, (oppalm), he might have some better info on these.
I plan on putting most of them in the ground this spring and crossing my fingers 😀
Have that jungle look going on in the GH now that it's loaded up.............................. 8)

Steve, are the Fortunei and the Triangle some of my old babies?? Hopefully they are as I really love to see you work your magic on them.
Will my X-Mas palms do better if I up size the pot? I tried once and it worked a bit, but nothing like yours.
The Sabal Louisianas are by far the fastest sabal I have growing. I have the S. McCurtain, S. Louisiana, and S. Minor and the S Louisianas are twice as big as the others and all germinated within a few months of each other. The McCurtain seems to be my slowest grower.
Steve, again, very nice pics. You demonstrate to everybody what can be done with some dirt, lots of cups, lighting, warmth, patience, and a camera. great job.

Kent,
Thanks for the info! I'm still having fun with all this 8)
Wes,
I've had Triangle seeds & seedlings from several from several sources, some of those are yours.
The T.fortunei are the ones you sent, they seem to be adapting to the summers here ( grew a little bit this summer as compared to only during the cooler months)
The X-Mas Palms are mostly in 1 - 2 gallon containers.
(and whatever size a Folger's coffee container translates to............. 😀

Steve ... I'm just picking up on this thread for the first time now. You certainly do have the touch for palm seed germination.
By the look of things, you'll have to open a nursery soon! 😆
Cheers, Barrie.
It's one thing to have a million plants.
But it's entirely another thing to have them looking so very healthy.
Not a brown edge or tip to be seen.
Congrats Steve.
I've got the passion, but I wish I had your ability! 😀
