After 26 years of growing palms and exotics ... yes, I could pass this over. Good deal or not, I have to find a way to over winter this rather demading palm.

Cheers, Barrie.

Considering it is one of my favorite palms (always has been) and the fact that the local Ford dealership is willing to house it for the winter (3 story bay) I think it suits me just fine.
It was just meant to be!

Arctic is that dealership called "Palms and Fords" 😆 . I think you will bringing more palms to them and soon the showroom will full of palms. That palm is a good deal for that price. Those palms really need a specific palm fertilizer with trace elements to do well. What type of fertilizer are you using?

http://treehelp.com/search-results.asp?SearchType=1&Keyword=palm+spikes&x=0&y=0

this is the type of fert I am using. The reason I got it so cheap was cause they neglected it in a big big way so I am going to try and nurse it back to health.!!
Any suggestions would be great!

Mainly yellow fronds is the problem I see

very inportant suggestion. Be very stingy with the water. I had one that held a water bubble in the stem and rotted the plant to death. Be careful

Nobody's used the NAME of the palm...what type is it?
It's a beauty...

I read somewhere that palms and cycads need different fertilizers (can't remember where).
Bet the micorrizae (sp?) and "biostimulant" will work wonders.
Is biostimulant a B vitamin? (kinda like Thrive, Superthrive?)

Hey Barb

It's a adonidia palm or a Christmas palm. It was severely neglected at the greenhouse I got it at. It's such a beautiful palm but it need lots of TLC. It is supposed to be much much greener and way more fronds. Maybe by the end of summer I will have it looking better!!!!

Thanks for that name, it's a lovely palm.
It'll recover nicely with your TLC...
