I have 2 groves of Musa basjoo. One is out in the open and the other is nettled in amongst other plants and Eucalyptus. The stand out in the open is always battered by wind this time of year and also the first to show frost damage. The grouping that is somewhat sheltered looks like Joe's, in mid-summer form.

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie, It will be interesting to see how mild this winter will be. I took those pics. in the afternoon of Oct. 31. I'm hoping they make it until Christmas. This rain sure is nice for the garden. Cheers, Joe

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Dispite the heavy rain earlier today, the soil is dry just an inch below the surface. With rain forecast all week it might be a couple of inches deep by then.
Joe ... my M. basjoo made it thru Xmas last year as I'm sure yours did.

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie, My Basjoo were still nice and green last Christmas day, but I recall many of the leaves being broken and bent from some wet snow we recieved earlier in the month. I'll have to dig up a pic. Joe
