I was just looking around on the net and found these pics from the same palms in Clarkston Wa., but dated 1998. That means they have been there atleast ten years. I know they don't look good in early spring but I bet they are like the ones Nampa Id, by the fall they will look great. 😀

Here is the link. http://www.plantapalm.com/vpe/photos/Species/trachycarpus_fortunei.htm

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

They did look rough in May, Aaron, but they're obviously in a very exposed location.
Encouraging stuff, as always!

This time next year, I'll be camped outside, fussing over my 32 year old Trachy which will have spent its FIRST winter outdoors. I'm already worried, and it's still INSIDE 😆

Wonder how the WA and ID palms look after this brutal winter.
Hopefully the tons of snow kept them better insulated.

Will you be driving through there this spring?

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

You are right Barb, it was May and not early spring. 😀 I thought it was early in spring because it was so cold out. 😳

I think they will pull through. 🙂

I don't think I will be driving up there anytime soon. 😐 It would however be cool to see them again. 😀 More than anything I would like to get a start from one of those yuccas. The had no sign of stress, and I think it was below -0f that year. 😯

I just checked thier weather for 2007-2008 winter and I don't think they got below 15F. Must stay kind of warm there? I know it is in a zone7, but it seems to get colder in some places in southern AZ at night. 😯

I didn't notice how far south December's Arctic Blast made it...too busy keeping warm 😆

Hard to believe it's only a Zone 7.
Elevation must make all the difference.

A couple of Yucca starts would be worth the drive. 😀
Especially of that hardy parentage.
