Here are some pics from Lewiston, Clarkston area, sorry I did not get more pics of the yuccas and things from around there.

Trachies were beat up from winter but are growing new leaves. They are 6 feet tall. Look like they have been there for awhile. Not as nice as the ones in Nampa ID.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Aaron thanks for those pics. The leash on the Joshua tree must be from the strong winds. Those Nampa Idaho Trachy`s at the car dealership? palms are still alive WOW 3 years now zone 6. When did you look at the Trachy`s in NAMPA last? Great to see you posting again. Share some pics for us here on your Yucca and cactus garden.

HI John,
The leash was for the wind I think, they had a big one that was blown over? But was growing up right again. The yuccas were not joshuas, I think the are aloefolias? 😕

I did not get to see the Nampa palms this year, but last year when I seen them they were doing very good, geat big full heads on them, very nice! 😉 I hope some one will post recent pics of them.

Yup you're right, those Trachycarpus look to be in pretty rough shape 😯 . Yuccas seem fine.

Cheers, Barrie.

Probably 10 to 20 years? yuccas grow faster with age, alofolias/gloriosa grow fast. Not sure wich sp. of yucca it is for sure? You could see where they cut the suckers off every year at the base, and some of them were nice sized (1 or 2 feet). I wish I could have gotten a start off one. But I was traveling in someone elses car. 😡 😆

Aaron, hmmmm, there are suckers every year?
Might be worth a trip back at the right time 😀

They're beauties.

Yes...they sould get suckers every year. 😀 There was other yuccas around the store and some had lots of nice suckers. 😀 If I knew who owned the place I would ask if they would mail me one, aloefolias are a rare sight in the west and those are doing so well. The one I planted last year died over its first winter. So who ever owns the Baskin Robbins in Clarkston, if you read this I would like to trade something for a start of your yuccas. 😉

Hey, Aaron, drop them a note with that suggestion.
They'd probably be happy to trade/share!

The people obviously know how to safely remove suckers without harming the parent plant.

Aaron,
looks like the site's still under construction.

Love that first pic on their home page. Fabulous Trachy.
Wonder how old it is.

Nice to see communities getting Palm Fever 😀

I don't know how old it is, but it looks alot like the two I seen in Nampa (about 15 miles away from Boise). Nice full crowns. 8)

I hope they get thier web site done soon, and I hope they post lots of pics. 😀

It should be great to see how they protect these palms during winter in Boise?

I don't think they get any protection, the ones I seen in Nampa don't get any protection and they were doing great. They could be dead now for all I know, but when I seen them they looked good and that was after a couple of winters.

I am sure young palms will need protection, but for a normal winter the bigger ones should be fine in that area? 😀
