Here are some Filifera that had a hard time during the winter, but one was pushing new leaves 🙂

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Wow. What is the Zone at Hagerman? Do they do anything special to protect the palms?

Allen

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Hagerman is about a zone 6b. The palms were groing under a big tent the year before last, but must have out grew the tent. They had no protection last winter that I know of.
The trunks felt solid and I think they will grow back. 🙂

I will try to get some more pics in the end of July.

There was also a house in the same valley with large pots with good sized cordy's growing in them (3-5 feet tall). I don't know if they keep them out during the winter, but the were kind of frost bit. I hope tp get a [ic of them also.

I looked for the house with the big cordies, but could not find it 🙁 I don't know that area very well, if I see them I will get some pics.
