Well here it is the first palm planted at my new house. The trachy has very stiff leaves with 18" of trunk.I hope it doesn`t sulk to long before it puts on some growth.

It looks beautiful.
It is hard to believe that it is that nice in the Okanagan when we got another 3" of snow today and the roads were so icy that there were 3 accidents on 137 Ave between 66 St and 82 St. while we drove home from the restaurant.

Your palm looks great. You will have to keep us posted as to how it makes out.
I planted one small t. fortunei and one sabal minor northern Texas this weekend. Both were grown from seed. The trachy is about a foot tall with a very small trunk on it. The sabal doesn't have any mature fronds yet but I hope it can handle our winters without protection. I figure it is coming from a cold area so it should be ok.

Allen thanks. Your spring is around the corner I`m sure.Wes you should have no problems with that Sabal minor.I have eight three year old juvenile Sabal louisiana. They will have to wait till they get much bigger before I try them in the ground with some protection I`m sure. I have so much more to go in the ground soon.

Most often you'll find these will not put on typical growth normally associated with this type of palm. The roots establish first after planting and in some cases it could be 2 years before it picks up speed. It will grow new foliage but not at the usual rate.
Looks great! You should have many years of enjoyment looking at it's progress.

Very nice...weather's pretty good so they should be happy to be out.
I've been warming the full watercan in the sun just in case water from the tap is too cold.
I'm also a little concerned about the chlorine in our tap water. I can smell it in the bathtub 😡
Yours look so good maybe I'll pass on all the precautions.
