Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Ah! I love that English bay. Is the big Agave americana still there? I think it's further along, nearer to the Burrard street bridge...
I think I've posted this before, but I can not believe how SLOW those Jubaea are. Maybe they are growing, but they've looked the same since I first saw them in 2004 or 2005!
An amazing spot. Did you grab any seed? I think I stripped the Chamherops and a few of the more portly Trachies back in 2005 (and I have 3 shelves of seedlings that I'm not sure what to do with, as a result!)
Thanks for sharing.

Great pics John.
The house adjacent to your grandmother's -- those trachies out front look to be planted in rock cairns.
I suppose the owners don't expect the trunks of Trachies to break through.

Those bananas are massive!

I think I see footprints heading to the seedhead of that trunking yucca... 😆 😆
Nice specimen.

Pics of your palms?

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

Paul if that Agave americana is still there I don`t know I`ll have to go farther down Beach Ave. to see. Those Jub`s are moving at a snail`s pace.I can see why they are mucho dinero for 15 gal.and larger. There was no seed other than some Trachy seed that I collected from nicer specimens. I don/t think you will have a problem with your seedlings for a few years . Barb I wish they would have grown those Trachys years ago I would have got my grandmother to plant some around the yard -who knew palms grew here. Bananas are the in thing everywhere in Van. a house that has M.basjoos the neighbors seem to replicate the look. Great to see.
