Spent some time in the Carribean this past week. Lots of cool stuff there! Made a trip up the Rio Wallace in Belize. Here are some pictures...
Me with a potted Wodyetia bifurcata on Grand Cayman...
An Attalea cohune in Belize with lots of inflorescences...
Seeds from the previous A. cohune laying on the ground (I was a good boy and didn't bring any back)...
Cocos nucifera in habitat in Belize...
Roystonea princeps in habitat in Belize (these are native to Jamaica)...
Cool picture of R. princeps with bird nests on the fronds...
Unknown understory palm in habitat in Belize...
Heliconia rostrata in Belize (I know, not a palm, but I like heliconias too!)...
And on the way home, a Caryota gigas with my mother-in-law at the local airport here...
Can't wait to go back!

AWESOME PICS!!!!!!
I enjoyed them a lot!!!
We had a Cruise for those cities but one of the people that was going to go with us broke her ankle, so we rescheduled and are now just going on the smaller cruise.
How hard is it to sneak seeds onto the boat??
Regarding seeds on the boat - I'm not sure, I didn't try. They told us that customs charges $100/item for cuban cigars, plants/seeds, and apples from the lunch counter, though. And they keep your stuff.
Dave
Beautiful cocos, royals, and the traveller's palm is great too! I'd love to have a good-sized one of those...
Dave
So the $100 customs charges is a FINE? (if they keep the stuff)
Sheesh...but those seeds....AAAAARGH! 😯
Those pics are so nice of plants in their habitat, and here I am farting around trying to get mine to grow 6 inches!
