Thanks so much for posting those. That guy setting next to you and yur wife on page 2 looks EXACTLY like a guy that used to go on float trips with my group of buddies down the "Current River" in Missouri & Arkansas. I had to take a second & third look to see if it WAS him. His name isn't Jim ("JIMBO") is it!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, how would that work, those cycads on page 2, can you buy those and then bring them into America with a receipt, or are you totally banned from bringing them into America and your just out the $$$? I need to know cause I am going there in December.

Thanks Mark and Wes. Wes the guy pictured is a friend of mine Harry his girlfiend Laura is the one taking the photo. The four of us went on vacation together. I think they have the palm bug now to. I don`t know about bringing anything back across the Mexico U.S. border. I might asume the same regulations are in place for phyto certificates from Mexico. You might want to go to the U.S. agriculture department web site and check importation of plants.

John,
Steve took the words right out of my mouth...

where Licualas would grow in ground

Interesting that the two Licuala sp appear for the most part to be planted out in the open, versus shade in habitat.

And it always blows me away when I see Bougainvillea blooming so heavily it almost falls off the support, growing in the driest dustiest compacted and never-amended soil, not an earthworm in sight.
Yet my pampered, compost-topped, twice/day watered beauty, with 1 flower, was dead as a stone in 2 months. 🙁

Cool pics from that BG...thanks John.

I just got back from Mayan Riveria. It was my third time down there and it is one of my favourite places. I have never been to the Pacific side but I am going in November. I will check this garden out. Thanks for the info.

Wes you will have a great time in Puerto Vallarta. November is a perfect time to go. Mind you anytime in the fall or winter is.
Check out Chico`s paradise water falls 5 minutes before PV botanical gardens on the same highway south of PV. The view on this highway is spectacular with the mountains and jungle on one side and the Pacific on the other. Here is a site you might want to check out.
