A big Thanks! to Tropicman for giviing me and my daughter a tour of his garden and greenhouses last weekend...We had a great time!

Also for growing these two nice specimens I came home with, won't be long before they are in the ground and 10' tall.

Steve, just some 2 cents of advise, plant those where you will NOT get wind. I tried planting some Musa Basjoo last year but they broke in the wind 😳
Hopefully I can find a spot for some this year if I can snag me a Nana somewhere.

Fine looking bananas there! Plant them with a bag of steer manure mixed with your soil. I've had to amend my soil to get them to grow. It's rather rocky and sandy so even a top dressing of sea soil in the spring works wonders. Post another pic later in the season to show there progress.

Cheers, Barrie.

Thanks Barrie, will do!

Wind can be a problem here.....Going to try these up against the house, Keeping the stems tied should give them a chance.

I will be uncovering mine soon. My last chance of frost is usually March 22 so I will wait a couple of weeks before I actually do it. I will start fertilizing at that time also. I am going to try that new miracle gro with trace elements.

Wes ... I've got some Musa itinerans to plant this year. I'll post a pic once they get going.
Cheers, Barrie.

You will have to let me know how they stand up in our winters. I have heard some promising comments about their hardiness
