California fans I germinated from Mikes batch of seeds.

My four year old S. Minor flowering for the first time.

One of the Needle palms I bought back in January flowering for the first time.

They sure look good.

Is the S. Minor 4 years old from seed?

Allen?

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Hey Allen. Yes it is. This palm grew very quickly. I have other from the same seed batch that still have strap leaves. Hopefully the seed from this plant will do as well as the parent plant.

The growth rate of your sabal minor is encouraging. I have some that are two years old that are still very small. They just don't get the heat that you do down in SC.

The Bismarkia is it going in the ground?
Will you have to protect it?
They are great looking palms.

My Meyer lemons are full of fruit right now.

Thanks Jay & Wes. Yes the Bismark will go in the ground next spring. I want it to get some size to it first. Heat is the key to Sabal's. Still some from the same batch still have strap leaves while other are fanned & this is the fastest one I have of the batch.
