Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks for the nice pics Tim

Y.rostrata protected vs unprotected, do you do that "test" every winter?

Any lights inside the W.filifera protection?

Those elatas look like they're happy as a clam, as is your monkey puzzle 😀

Just a Q...wouldn't it have been prudent to get some root size on the eucs first by starting them in the Wollemi house?

nice mild winter for you.

Just saw these. Way cool. Love the monkey puzzle. (One by us was dead brown by October for some odd reason, not frost, jut maltreated I guess. ) Things look great!

Hi Mike,

Thanks Mike......not much snow this year. Get another MP......they are nice.

It appears I missed this post too......as I never responded to Barb's question.

Hi Barb,

Yes I typically protect my large Y. Rostrata and don't protect my smaller Y. Rostrata. So far the little rostrata is doing well.

The Eucalyptus's were growing in my garage last winter so they were a year old when I planted them outside. My plan was to protect them on the 'killer' nights which we never had this winter. One Euc has fried leaves with a low of 5F (-15C). If this plant fries at 5F, I don't want it........good testing material. Hopefully the other 2 Eucs will take off this season. I don't give plants in containers enough attention so I like to get them in the ground asap.

Yes, i have lights in the Washy hut. The top is open and lets excess heat and moisture out. I hope its ok

Looks great Tim!

Stellar collection of Yuccas!

Mike

I wonder if the M-puzzle bit it because of the heat???

Who knows, it is a guy down the street who has it, and his garden always looks unkempt. Shame. I wanted to steal it..... 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Tim, thanks.

I'm interested in your Washy growth this summer as it's been in the ground longer than mine.
Look forward to regular yard updates.
