Osoyoos and Oliver are my favorite places to see in the Okanagan 😀 . Great pics there Jay. What are those trunking Yuccas planted next to that building?

The desert hasn't changed much since I was there 15 years ago. The Osoyoos area is still one of my favorite places in Canada.

I love going to Osoyoos. I have pretty much talked my wife into moving there in the near future. 😀

John, I'm not sure what kind of yuccas those are? They looked pretty beat up. That is the only pic we took where we didn't get out of our car. There is a fruit stand with a nice size nursery just before you enter Osoyoos on the hwy that had huge 9-10 foot cordys, Trachys, Chamaerops, Agaves and Basjoos. Didn't have time to check all the prices but saw the agaves (Variegated Agave 'Marginata') were a little pricey at $50 for a 2 gallon size.

Regards,
Jay

Very Cool 8)
Looks very much like South Eastern Idaho. Interesting South Western landscaping there 8) I think the desert landscaping looks so much better in the desert then just the old grass yard.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I hope you don't mind Jay if I post a pic of a desert place not far from where I live.

This a pic of balanced rock from this year.

There are some chollas in the picturres. Is there a nursery in the Kelowna area that sells them?

I am considering a trip down there next spring if I can get sabals or needle palms.

Sorry guys, my modem died on me so i had no internet connection for the last 20 hours. 🙁 It almost felt like being in hell. 😈 But it's all working now. That's a cool pic Aaron. The annual precip is about 9-10 inches. Allen, i haven't seen any chollas for sale around Kelowna. If i see some i'll let you know. I have a small one i planted this summer. I could give you a cutting off it next summer.

Regards,
Jay

Thanks Jay. I appreciate the offer of a cutting. I'm still hoping to get something out of the Devonian gardens here in Edmonton.

I will hassle you in the spring about the cutting if I am still cholla-less.

Jay was the south west landscaping just around one property or was it around a larger area? It looks like it was spread out?

Allen, Sounds good just remind me in the Spring. 🙂

Aaron, That area is a public park and is a fair size. The next two or so houses beside it have the same south west landscaping. I wish i had a park like that beside my place. 😀

Regards,
Jay
