Nice blooms Jay!
If you tired of that basilaris, I'll gladly take it off your hands! Does it get any winter damage?

The heat here has really triggered my cacti into bloom. Here's a couple for ya.

Thx guys, The basilaris hasn't had any winter damage. No winter protection for it. Paul PM me your address and I'll mail you out a pad if you want. 🙂

Regards,
Jay

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Barrie,
What if anything do you use for winter protection for your cacti?
I have some that I am not sure what to do to protect them from our winter rains.
I have them planted against the house under a soffit but I am not sure this will be enough.

Wes... all of these are left unprotected. Drainage is superior which is key during the winter rain. Some species are able to take winter rain better than others. Quite often it's an experiment as the vast majority have never been tested here before.
Which type do you have? Perhaps I can give you my perspective and experience with it, of course if I have tyied it.

Cheers, Barrie.
