Here's a few pics from my recent trip to Las Vegas. I took over 300 pics but will just post a few
for now.

If you have some pictures from LV feel free to post them here!

Enjoy!
Jay

Nice!
I bet it was cool, there, too--at least compared to the 103oF (+75oF dew point) I have outside right now at 2 pm.
For us palm novices, can you ID some of the palms?

Drooling at:

pic 1: the yucca, great colour.

pic 4: the trio of palms with the tightly spaced boots. European Fan Palms?

last pic: CIDP? (Canary Island Date Palm), but what's that blue palm in the foreground? Brahea armata?

Thanks!
Barb

Thanks! Yeah it only got to about 110F but that's dry heat so wasn't really too hot.

Barb, Not sure if the first pic is actually a yucca? Might be an agave?

Your right on with the others.
🙂

Do you have another photo of the Brahea?
I am trying mine in the ground this year and so am hoping to learn more about them. --Erik
P.S. not a dry heat here. We had rain this morning....

Your welcome! They are huge! You don't see many that big around Las Vegas.

Great pictures Jay, those Brahea are crazy!!! It must be nice to have a casino budget to spend on palms 😯 😯 😯

Good to hear you had a nice trip.

I can't belive how big those Brahea armata are getting in front of the MGM. I seen some at the MGM about 10 years ago, hard to belive they are the same plants. 😯

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I hope to find my old pic of the lion and see what they looked like. But may be hard to post because it is on 35mm. 😆

That'll be a hassle, Aaron, but if you can scan them it would be fun to see how they've grown.
If my little one makes it through this winter, I may shop for a large one in Spring. They look so good, and apparently can handle the heat I've had here lately....

I found some of my pics even of the lion, but can't find the one with the palms. 😡 I might look again tonight, so many old pics to look through. 😆
