These were taken at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus garden. Unfortunately I only had 1/2 hour and didn't get to spend anywhere nearly enough time.

Now this is a cholla.

This picture was taken in Boulder on our way to the Dam.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Thanks Allen.
I have some of the Opuntia linguiformis pictured in the second photo. I grew it for just a few short years and it got to about 5 or 6 feet tall then collapsed. Apparently not strong enough to support it's own weight.
