I was able to toss in a few xeriscape plants into an area where I work. The area is on a rock ledge with superior drainage. It's a bit on the wild side (not manicured) but the selection I choose should do fine.

Nice to see Barrie. Cactus,yucca,agave on Vancouver Island. Any other amending of the soil before planting?

Well if you could call it "soil", no amendments. It was very dry and dusty, mostly rock and I had to search carefully to find appropriate sites for each plant. I've been approached by management to plant some palms next spring.
