Here's some cacti pictures i took today. None of these were protected over the winter. I have some little Opuntia Compressa seedlings that made it in perfect shape. Strong little buggers. 😀

Here's the link to my pics gallery.

Looks great.
There is no way they would survive outside un protected here. Too much moisture.
I am going to try a c. optunia this year though but I will put a rain cover over it during the winter.

Thanks Wes, I'm sure there are some opuntias that would do fine in Van un protected. You should try O. Humifusa. They are wet tolerant opuntia. 😀

Jay

That would be awesome.

You'll have to give me instructions on what and how I plant it.

Thanks

Jay, Your cactus collection is awsome. It looks like all your cactus do very well in your climate. Nice filamentosa.

Cheers

Jay, what a nice variety in your collection.
And if they made it through THIS winter, they oughta be "good to go".

Wes, they are pretty easy to plant. You can even lay the pad on it's side and it will root. When i send a pad to you i'll make quick a note for you.

Thanks Ryan. I hope to get more variety this summer. I just made some more space for more cacti. 😀

Barb, I had about three cacti die this winter but now i know which ones are the tough ones. 😉

Jay

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
