When they are smaller that happensbut as they get larger it wont be asmuch of an issue,mine could get ratherspotty as infants as I recall :D

Sequoia would have a better chance,no way with the coast Redwood,they really do not appreciate any temps below 20F.My Sequoia handled -18F under a ros...
