I had the good fortune to head to the tropics (Central America) recently. Here are some pics... Note: This is not heavy in palms, so I posted it in Other plants.

It was difficult to get a good picture of a sloth... It only sleeps 20 hours a day...

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Cool, thanks for sharing the pics.

Costa Rica. Pics not all from 1 area.
The jungle in Costa Rica was something to see for sure, I wish back when I was there I knew more about the plants and trees. I really need to look back and see if I can find some of those pictures, I've looked a few times for them in the past, they must be packed away somewhere. I'm sure I took more tree and plant pictures then I thought 😀
Thanks again for posting them.
Very pretty! Thanks!!!!

Paul,
thanks. I love mesoamerica, with that awesome mix of nearctic and neotropical fauna & flora.
Work-related: what felids are in the area where you go?
Palmy: Chameadorea and Sabal are my favorites. Many of them there? --Erik

that first pic, wow...some type of orchid?
Love that waterfall, almost looks man-made.
And the sloth! I remember reading that needle palm (hope I got that right!) distribution in the U.S.A. should be far further north than it is BECAUSE GROUND-SLOTHS were hunted to extinction in the US. The sloth is responsible for spreading seeds over a wide area.
Near Tambor by any chance?

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
Very nice pics paul. One of the best places to get away from the winter!
