I collected seeds of the Torreya californica (the source of the seeds is Nikitsky Botanical Garden, Crimea, USDA zone 8b). Is this tree/shrub fully or partialy hardy in zone 6a/5b? (Most Internet sources give it zone 7, but some sources give it zone 6)

I'm not sure how hardy they are?? I think those are native to coastal California areas? If so they may not be hardy to zone 6 or 5. 😕

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Now I have only 3 ( :D) seeds of the torreya californica. I wanted to test torreya nucifera in the open ground (which is hardy even in St. Petersburg, Russia; but it grows there like a small shrub), but I accidentally have got the seeds of the T. californica. I'll sow the seeds in October in the open ground in my garden
