So, I recently got a better job, and have been working a lot. My original intention for my yard is to just plant, tinker, and let it be. I didnt plan to just leave it this soon. I had just cut the grass for the first time in a month.

It turns out, everything was fine. The pear and apple had some fungus due to the single day rainfall record in may (100+mm), but even in the last 2 weeks ive left it alone in 26c - 31C heat, and little rain over that time, everything is great. All I could do was water the potted plants. ITs been a warm/mild year, with above average rainfall.

Fargesia Rufa (yes, those are new shoots (Second set this year)

Hosta "sum and substance"

Holly fern

Blackberry/Raspberry (keep in mind that area is 5 x 8 at least)

Phyllostachys alata summer shoot/shoots

Zamia Floridia first leaf, seed sown december 2011 (sorry for bad quality, will get a better one)

Asst. Potted plants

View from the gate

Datura wrightii and "fleur du lilac"

Sunflower "toiyo"

A 5x5 square of Datura Fleur du lilac

Asst. Potted plants

A Lyre leaf fig, which I just seen a day or 2 after Jim posted about his (ive always wanted one too)

A mystery sunflower, about 6.5 feet

Thanks!

Thanks Cameron, I hope to get some more crammed in the yard!

Jim - Im surprised at how fast the ginger has grown. The fig hasnt grown too much for me. I got it a few weeks ago, and it just got climatized. I have like.... 8 different ficus now... they all grow fast.....
