Toured a few nurseries the other day, looking to add to my palm collection.
You know you have too many palms when you already have one of everything you see 😆

So I bought this one.
Bubble gum pink, shocking, almost gaudy. But cool!

Now to do some research on it...yippee, something new to learn to dispel the boredom of winter. 😀

Very nice looking plant Barb.

I bought one of those last winter, it grew to good size over summer. The main plant (momma) died and it grew like 5 or 6 pups on the side that I am overwintering now under flourescent lights and will separate and plant in the springtime. I do like the bromelaids and if they prove easy to overwinter, which they have been so far, I will continue to grow as they multiply. 6 plants for the price of one, thats just good economic sense.

Thanks Kent.
Nice to know you have some experience with these.
I don't expect the flowers to last long because I'm not able to give it 16 hours of light a day.

It already has one pup in bloom, hoping it'll make some more.
Interesting that you just have to keep water in "the cup" around the flower stem.

Do you use distilled water?
Maybe I should melt snow. 😆

I find the variegated leaves attractive, they actually look dusty.
Just like the rest of the plants. 😀

they say not to separate the pups until they are about 1/3 the size of the mother plant. They are pretty easy to water because they catch lots of water in the "cup". bromelaids are cool. I think you will like them.
