Barb, How is yours doing after the re potting?

The ones I moved out are starting to wake up now,

The one in the GH still moving along,
(not the best thing to put next to a walkway 😀

Steve, I might be able to take a pic later, but this Spring, I put mine outside and it developed what almost looked like center rot. I went ahead and left it out side and the center got black. However since then, it is now booming with growth, but from about 9 different "scales" or growing points. Will this now be a 9 headed Pachy?

Wes, It will start branching from that point 8) Do what you can to help the wound heal.

When in doubt REPOT, REPOT, REPOT!

Mine seems to have gotten over its speckled, diseased looking leaf phase finally.
Thanks for suggesting I repot it instead of tossing it out.

New leaves are clean but small.

If we don't want them to branch at that point, can we cut off the new stuff to encourage it to get taller on a single stem?
Or would that lead to 18 points? 😆 😆

I agree Pachy lamerei aren't great near a sidewalk, but the absolute worst thing is a Ponytail Palm.
Mine's like razor wire, and just touching it leads to blood dots on bare legs.
I may put it on the roof 😆

Noticed the tallest one here is starting to branch 8)

It's the one in the back,

It'll be interesting to see how long the branches become...
you'll have to nail that container to the floor 😆

Your Bizzie has grown so much, it's stunning!

Thanks Barb, The Bismarckia sits in full sun all summer long, really brings out the color!
Going to try and find a spot for the Pachypodium inside the greenhouse, taking it in & out of the house each year is getting dangerous ( I always end up full of holes afterwards 😆

The Pachy will enjoy the sunny greenhouse this winter.
Those thorns look even more lethal as the plant ages. 😕

Mine is nowhere near your plant's size, but I wrap about 15 pages of newspaper around the stem and tie it with masking tape, making it not so dangerous to handle.

Last time I moved it, wrapped it in towels and had leather gloves on. It shifted on the dolly coming up the steps and turned me into a pincushion 😆

This is how I keep them warm at night..... lol

Ouch...a pincushion 😆

How cute those cats are!
Didn't one of them use a Pachy as a scratching post indoors?
Brave soul.

Between cats, turkeys, grasshoppers and everything else..............................
Moved the larger Pachy's into the GH for good, plenty of room for growth, and no worries about one falling on me while trying to move it into the house. 😆

Looks like this one is branching at 3-4 spots 8)
