Driving by yesterday, I saw that the ONE remaining osage has fruit all in the tree. Big horse apples. Monkey balls. Mammoth food.
Anyways, I will be collecting some over the course of the month... let me know if anyone wants Balls, Seeds, or even seedlings (I have hundreds).
Pictures to follow.

Are those edible?

I remember playing with them as a kid. We called them "brain apples" and used to throw them around and at each other.

My Grandma said they keep spiders away not sure if thats true, me and my cousins used to kick them around and throw them at each other. There is a large Osage Orange tree at my school, they have neat looking bark too.

Definitely edible nor palatable. They say woolly mammoths were the last land creature capable of fitting in its mouth and actually reaching them up in the trees. Mammoth food. Now obsolete due to the lack of mammoths.
