I went out today to check on things and all the new growth on my Japanese Maple is drooping and looks dead 😳 😳
Anybody wanna give me hope that it will bounce back?

These are pretty hardy trees. What was your coldest temps?

Sometimes on mine the new growth weeps then straightens out, however mine is a weeping type.

I won't worry yet unless the leaves don't come out in the next few weeks.

Lil warmer today so I got to study it more.
All the new growth which was growing as limb extensions are now soft and limp. And all the new leafs are drooping and soft.
However, I did see some bulbs that had not opened, so ALL the leaves are not gone.

Oh what a shame...darn cold weather 😡

It'll bounce back, I'm sure! Keep us posted.

UPSET isn't quite the word I was using today.
Look what happened to my Dolichos lablab (Hyacinth Bean) seedlings.
I am so mad at myself for leaving them on the patio table when the cold winds hit. As anyone knows, Beans (of any type) HATE cold soil. They had grown to about 6 inches, fell over dead!
A few are alive but iffy. Even the little ones look like they're distorted and aborting.

AND as if that isn't bad enough...remember my 30 year old ficus that I pruned really hard?
Well the last leaves just went brown/black...too cold on the patio, I guess.
I scratched the bark and there's a hint of pale green...not a good sign.

Poop! 👿

Kansas; I am glad that your maple is still alive.

It really sucks to have that happen to that many seedlings. I sure hope that the ficus comes back.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Thanks Allen.
All this grief (for everyone) ... thanks to the rotten weather this last month.
