Igor 🙂 it was relatively warm and then the grass got covered with snow/warm again after it melted-we'll see how long that lasts.
Yea,Barb-whenever he sent those seeds out last,I think it being able to stretch it's roots out helps maybe?
That is just Miracle-grow with some sand and perlite thrown in.

Y. queretaroensis got some cold damage too:
They burn easy! I had palms that are hardier.
Here's mine, it was purchased as Yucca leanirfolia. 🙄

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Yes, it's lovely yucca. And it doesn't matter if it linearifolia or whatever... Do you protect this plant, Aaron?

linearifolia does look like querotanensis but linearifolia is much hardier.......people in Europe claim linearifolia is hardy to -5F or so while querotanensis is hardy to +15F or so. This is my first winter with linearifolia outside...........I'll let you know if it survives inside that protection.
Aaron....at what temp do you think your linearifolia died? You really think it was mis-ID'd as a querotanensis?

I orderd a Y. linearifolia from "Plants Delights". It showed up through the mail and was labeled "Y. linearifolioa". I planted it, but thought it looked so different I started having my doughts about the sp. It look more like Nolina longifolia. It had square sided leaves, nothing like any yucca I have ever seen. I thought how would anyone think this looks like a thin leafed rostrata. Well...too make this story short it was not linearifolia, it is (was) Y.quarotanensis! 😉
And it was not hardy, Nolina longifolia lasted longer. 😆
PS. my Y. querotanensis died half way into winter, and it was covered. I think it was a mild year, this was a few years back. 🙂

I haven't looked at their 2013 issue yet, but aren't Tony's "added descriptions" on some plants hilarious?
...that he's only killed it twice, etc.
post a pic when you receive it.

Hi Barb,
yes...........PLN does 'kill me' with great commentary in their plant descriptions. 😆
Here's the latest Y. linearifolia from PDN. Almost looks like a elata or glauca.......I gotta have it. 8)

I really need more garden space.................I will likely not get the PDN linearifolia................I have 30 yuccas waiting for garden spaces...........time to move. 8)

ooooh, that one's so lovely.
Strange it has no filaments.
Love the crisp thin white edges.

Yup, a couple of acres out in the country...just think of what you'd have space for :laughing6:
Maybe order the yucca? in case you do move? 😆 😆
