Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Tim, just wondering why don't you clean a trunk of the Monster?

Chives have awesome blooms. 🙂

I don't cut off southwest Yucca leaves unless I have too........it appears the old leaves improve hardiness.......I like the look too.

Yes I've read that the "skirt blanket" provides winter protection.

I found a black widow spider in the big yucca rostrata I bought (RIP...the y.rostrata).
Seems the skirts are great hiding places for creepy crawlies. 😡 😆

Tim great pics. How cold hardy is the Y.rostrata x Y.filimentosa. I`m thinking the Y.rostrata is the cold hardier half than the Y. filimentosa? Thanks for the update.

I agree that gloves should be worn when looking inside the dead leaves since it's a great place for spiders.

Leave the cactus seeds in your garden and many will sprout the next season!

I would imagine the Y. Fila x rostrata will be z5 hardy in dry areas and z6b hardy in wet areas? Only time will tell.

Sorry Igor, there was nothing to photograph after I got through with it...just a smear on the pavement.

You wouldn't like black widows if there was one under every rock or plant pot in your yard 😕
Their numbers seem to be increasing here, despite my best efforts.

I like that you have Echinocereus rechenbachii 'weeds' coming up. I have a tough enough time growing them here when I plant them!

The fila x rostrata is interesting. With a large number of f2 progeny there could be some great plants there!
