Tim,

Is that a Dioon spinulosum?

I'm impressed whichever Cycad it might be.

Hi Barb,

not sure what the Cycad is.......I collected the seed at Disney World, Florida back in 2005 or 2006. I thought it was a C. revoluta but I'm no expert. I think Bill MA thought is was something different too. ❓

Bill's right, it's a Sago palm (C. revoluta).

My brain fart.

Thought I would uncover mine today too.
It is a little brown. Green on leaf centres. Not mushy.

Adam,
I had trouble with a Sago a few years ago.
Someone suggested cutting all the leaves off and watering the hell out of it.
It came back gangbusters.

I don't know if now is the right time to do that, though.

Maybe someone with more experience will chime in here.

That is so cool, too see them survive winters that far north. 😀 I might have to grow me one and protect it with some heat. 😯

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Dude thats crazy! Since that worked you should try Zamia Floridia. Theyre native to southern georgia and florida. They stay small too.
