Ive been trying to ID this tree for a while now, and just noticed some ripe seeds. Im wondering if anyone here recognizes it?
If needed Ill take better pics of the tree. It was dug up in a patch of forest near where the owner of the house worked.

It is some species of Euonymus.

Methinks what you have there is the burning bush, Euonymous alatus. It's native to the Southern part of Ontario and is hardy well into zone 3!

Funny thing is the closest natibe euonymus is in southern minnisota. It seems like.a.northern.movment maybe?

The fruit looks a match for Euonymus Europaeous 🙂

No idea myself, Ill have to take a better look into it. Alatus seems to have some "wings", even if not too pronounced (correct me if im wrong plz). The tree in question has no wings at all. Could be some random hybrid seed that a bird dropped as well.
Either way, I have some seeds, so im going to try and germinate them. Now that I have an idea what it is im going to steal a sucker, worse comes to worse.
